Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, which marks the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. This holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on June 19 in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, enslaved people were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation. We will gather in community and move together as we commemorate Juneteenth and remember that no one is free until we are all free. ✊??✊?
