TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF. WHAT DO YOU DO OUTSIDE OF THE GYM?
I work in marketing for the University of Chicago and also volunteer as an occasional DJ at CHIRP Radio. In my free time I love going on adventures with my wife, Lauren, and our dog, Buster. I am also an avid rollerblader and cyclist.
WHAT INITIALLY GOT YOU INTO TRAINING AND WHAT KEEPS YOU COMING BACK?
I have always enjoyed working out, but never had much strategy on my own. The class structure at Hardware is great because I don’t have to plan my workout, I just have to show up! The excellent coaching staff and friendly community are a huge part of what keeps me coming back each week.
WHAT ARE YOUR FITNESS GOALS? HOW CLOSE ARE YOU TO REACHING THEM?
Pull-ups! I am making progress but I am not there yet!
WHAT’S AN ACCOMPLISHMENT OR GOAL YOU’VE REACHED AT HARDWARE THAT MADE YOU THE MOST PROUD?
I am most proud of completing my first Crossfit Open earlier this year. It was such a fun/challenging experience. I look forward to doing it again next year.
FAVORITE WOD/MOVEMENT?
I can’t believe I am saying this, but Burpees.
LEAST FAVORITE WOD/MOVEMENT?
Also Burpees. It’s a love/hate thing.
ANY ADVICE FOR SOMEONE INTERESTED IN TRYING OUT HARDWARE?
It is so worth it. Hardware is a great place for any skill level, the coaches are great and the community is friendly!
