Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you do outside the gym?
I’m big into exploring new food and culture, always up for trying something new. I’ve also played sports for a good chunk of my life, so staying active isn’t new to me.
What initially got you into training, and what keeps you coming back?
I started training for better health and to build real strength. I wanted to feel capable, not just look a certain way. What keeps me coming back now is the community and the constant challenge. There’s always something new to work on, whether it’s a lift, a skill, or just moving better.
What are your fitness goals? How close are you to reaching them?
My main goals right now are hitting new PRs and eating clean. Honestly, I’m not as close as I’d like to be. Since becoming a dad to a 15-month-old, consistency has been the hardest part. But I’m working on getting back into a rhythm, one workout and one meal at a time.
What’s an accomplishment or goal you’ve reached at Hardware that makes you the most proud?
Honestly, it’s the progress I’ve made on mobility and form. It’s not as flashy as a PR, but cleaning up my movement quality has made every lift feel better and safer. That foundation is something I’m really proud of.
Favorite WOD/movement?
Hang clean. Something about the explosiveness of it just clicks for me.
Least favorite WOD/movement?
Overhead squats, no contest. Still working on the mobility to make them feel less brutal.
Any advice for someone interested in trying out Hardware?
